Tutoring is the where SOAR started, and we are so proud of this service that we offer. Our tutoring students are met where they are and then supported and taught to move forward. All of our tutoring sessions are 1:1 instruction (unless requested and scheduled by request) so we can help your student find the best success.
Here are a few important things to know about SOAR Tutoring:
- We value flexibility.
Our service is based on the needs of the student and family of the student. We provide assessments on top of discussion with the student/family in order to best determine the plan of action. Every student’s tutoring plan will be different, and we are here to best help you find what you are looking for. - You will not be required to sign a contract.
We do not require a minimum number of sessions. Once assessments are completed, we will provide a recommended plan of action, but we provide all services on a month-to-month basis. - We provide a variety of subjects.
Sessions range from highly structured Orton Gillingham-based instruction for dyslexics (all grades/skills levels), to college-level math, or executive functioning and study skills. We are here to provide what you need, and we have several tutors who specialize in a variety of areas. We will connect you with a tutor that matches your need. - Location is your choice.
Our SOAR classrooms or tutor-travel options are available.
Some options of tutor-travel options are the student’s school/after-care option or a public library. There is an additional $10 travel fee within 10 miles of our classroom at 419 Twins Way, 27006) - Sessions vary in length.
Typically sessions are 60 minutes. If a student needs a shorter time, we can accommodate a 40-50 minute session. Middle and high schoolers often prefer 90-120 minute sessions.
